Well I flushed my coolant a week after purchasing my 07 Commander replaced both upper and lower radiator hoses, thermostat then filled it with coolant from the dealer and followed the full procedures. For some reason every now and then it starts to get got but not all the time. Coolant level hasn't changed in over a week. To me this appears to be a flow issue but the pump appears fine. I opened the radiator cap and level seemed low. This appears to be the pump any other ideas?

You have air trapped in the system and it need to be bled out. Try parking with the from end raised up on a curb or hill and let it sit for a while and when cool fill the radiator.

You probably did not bleed the air out of the system. See this thread on how to change coolant.

Yeah I actually used that exact thread to make sure I did bleed it out. I'll have to bleed it again now since I've opened it up though. After checking a few threads and vids on they old you tube I noticed all the vids on the 4.7 had clutch fans. Mine only came with an electric. Should it have both or one? This seems dumb to me to even ask but it's worth a shot, can't imagine why it wouldn't be put back on. The nut for where it would go doesn't appear like one has been there. Thoughts? Thanks for all the help.

So after seeing the thread for where a clutch fan would now in available daylight, you can see a thread there with nothing on it makes me believe one should be one there. Going to go by dealer later and check.

Well talked to the parts department at the local dealer and there is no clutch fan for my model year. Moving on No engine codes or anything. Only other options left can be the sensor, tensioner for the pulley, the electric fan itself and water pump. Hmmm...

Well I picked up a water pump and temp sensor. May try to install later on today or tomorrow for sure.

I'd definitely replace the water pump.

Seems like the most likely culprit to me after everything else you've done and described.

Water pump it was. After removing it you could then hear noise it shouldn't make lol. Did the temp sensor as well. Now just to run it a few more times get any potential air out and it'll be good. After firing it back up you could tell it ws much happier running lol.

That's good news, glad to hear it's fixed and running cool again.

I'm not surprised to hear that the water pump was the problem.
