Heavier oil?

My ‘08 4.7L has almost 112,000 miles on it, and i did an oil change about 2 weeks ago, prior to the change i used 10w-40 and the engine noise was quite lower than it usually is, ive had engine knock for the past few years now, honestly not too concerned about it believe it or not, when i did the change i put back in the 5w-20 and it is a lot louder now obviously because its a much thinner oil, i was wondering if anyone here uses a heavier oil than 10w-40 or if any of you have suggestions on which oil to use with such high miles? Thank you guys

@MitchV15 ; All I can tell you is 5W-20 is what Chrysler/Jeep recommends for our 4.7L engines.

I'm just over 97,000 miles on mine and I've never run anything but 5W-20 and I have no issues with knocking or anything else.

I'm on 110,000 with either using 5w20 or unfortunately 5w30 at the moment (interestingly it says in my manual that for the 5.7, 5w30 can be used), no noises.

Agree that I wouldn't be using anything other than those, 5w20 preferably.

5.7 V8 Hemi!!!

5W30 can be used as stated in the manual if there's no possibility of finding the rarer 5W20. I know my XK has been running with it for at least the last 10,000Km (~6200mi).
I did the oil and filter change just yesterday and we used Petronas 5W20 fully synthetic. I plan to run it for a year or another 6000mi and see how it comes out. It's probably a very conservative mileage, but it's not a terrible cost.

My XK had a slight lifter knock using Valvoline high mileage and I have switched to Castrol Edge high mileage and all is better. Now have 115K and on 2nd Castrol high mileage. We'll see. I would not advocate a heavier oil above 10W30.
