JeepCommander.com Fall 2008 Camping Trip


Now that dates and locations have been settled, I wanted to get a new thread going that would make things easier to figure out the details and such.

In short, the details (with bullet points!)
  • George Washington National Forest
  • Outside Harrisonburg, VA
  • Friday thru Sunday
  • Sept 5-7th, 2008
  • Invite the family
  • Safe for stock vehicles (but plenty fun for modded rigs)
  • Hiking/biking/canoing/etc is available
  • Meeting spots to convoy along the way (details on website)

Yes i am def looking forward to this. It seems as if it could be nice and i believe i may possibly be bring 2 or 3 other ppl not sure yet. I am looking forward to this trip. I have never actually took my truck off road besides minor dirt trails here and there but nothing serious. I would like to take its V-card. looking forward to this all thanx for the invite.

Glad you're coming along, man!

I'm going to pick up a forest map soon that should show some more trail options for exploring on Saturday.

As time gets closer, we'll have to make up a "checklist" of sorts so that everyone makes sure they're bringing what they need to. Gotta be ready for anything.

Around the 3:40 mark, you can get a nice video shot of where we'll be camping (on top of Flagpole Knob).

Also gives you a good idea of the challenges you can find off the main trail, too.
