One last decision to make; Input appreciated

After hours and hours of reading posts on this forum, I have finally come up with what I think is going to be a great looking setup. Within the next 4-5 weeks, I will be adding a 2" RC spacer lift, 17" v-tec off road matte black wheels, and 255/70/17 General Grabber AT2's. The remaining decision I have, is what backspace/offset should I get for the wheels? In the 5-127 (5x5) bolt pattern, I have two options:

17x8.5 with 5.75" backspacing and +25 offset
or
17x8.5 with 4.75" backspacing and 0 offset

I want the widest stance possible, but at the same time, I don't want any rubbing issues.

Thank you very much for your help. I'll post pictures as soon as I get everything installed next month.

Here is a pic of the wheels and tires...

Go with the +25mm offset.

My wheels are 17x8 with +18mm offset, which is 5.2" backspace.

The outer edge of the 8.5" wide wheels with 5.7" backspace will sit in the same spot as mine. The 4.75" backspace will stick out an inch further.

My wheel is 17x9 with 4.5 backspacing with 265/70s. Very minor rubbing issues (because I need to take the heat gun to the plastic). If you want the widest stance go with the opposite of what this guy above me just told you. Seems like he just told you that because that is what he has, when you specifically said widest stance possible.

Gee thanks man. I didn't just tell him that size because "that's what I have". He asked for the widest stance possible "without rubbing issues". When I did my research, my size is what I came up with.

I also provided pictures and told him that the other set will stick out 1" further in the even my stance wasn't wide enough.

Obviously if he just want "the widest stance possible" he should go with the widest wheel with least backspace.

No problem man.

I thought the other wheels would have rubbing issues. That's why I chose the backspace I got.

I appreciate the input, guys. It's funny that you two are the ones that chimed in, because both of your rigs played a large part in my decision making.

I do want the widest stance possible. I don't mind throwing up some dirt, mud, and grime on the side of my Jeep. Black is impossible to keep clean, even with the current wheel/tire setup which is tucked way in.

Having said that, I don't want to deal with any rubbing. If the 4.75" BS with 0 offset is questionable, then I will probably opt for the 5.75" BS +25mm offset option. I've lifted a few of my prior vehicles, but I've never had this much difficulty picking a tire and wheel setup.

Modifying the pinch weld behind the wheel wells and then just taking a heat gun to the wheel wells themselves is worth it I think because I really like the wide stance. I have no problems on left at all. I must have done perfect. Just need to reshape right side a little more. Then no rubbing and no problems. Matt's set up is really nice and seems more hassle free. My biggest regret is 17x9. Now I have to run at least a 265 and can never go to a 255/75 or something according to 4wheelparts. Too narrow for that wide of rim.

+25mm offset.

Stormtrooper has a lot of experience with wheels and tires, and he got 265/70s with a +25 offset wheel and has no rubbing issues:

I'm going to bump this to the top hoping that some others will chime in. My 2" RC kit will be arriving tomorrow, so I called discount tire today to order the +25 5.75 BS wheels and the sales rep was trying to talk me into the 0 offset 4.75 BS wheels, so now I am back to square one. Please help!
