Bought SRT8 rims, What Tires fit to Jeep Commander now

I just called a tire place because I bought some Jeep SRT8 wheels and now I need tires. Since this is not a stock application they did not want to sell me tires due to the fact that I may have clearence issues.

Basically what is a good size tire to avoid tire rubbing? my wallet is now deep so I need something not so expensive. Please let me know.

I came accross some fronts that were 245/55/20 for cheap to fit the fronts but didnt know if they would rub. Please let me know asap

I would like to know also I'm going to put a 3.5" rock krawler lift on my 07 commander and was planning on running the 20x9 srt-8 replicas but don't know what tire will fit best with or without spacers?

Toyo Proxes ST are popular for the SRTs. Not sure about the size, but an SRT is lowered more than the Commander, so I would find it hard to believe there would be clearance issues.

P.S., call a different tire place. Most of them will test fit a tire for you.

I've been running Hankook Ventus RH06 tires for a year now and they've been great. (Similar tread pattern to the Toyo Proxes mentioned.) They're 275/60/17 on stock wheels plus 1" spacers; fit great with no rubbing (w/ 2" lift), but would rub if they were any larger. Similar sized tires for 20" rims would be 275/45/20. Be sure to put some pics up of your final setup!

06 QT1, RC 2" Lift, 1.25" Wheel Spacers, 275/60/17 Hankook Ventus RH06 Tires, 20% Front Window Tint, Tinted Taillights and Front Turn Signals, DDM 6K HID lights, E&G Classics Grille, Debadged front, 1948 Studebaker 'Commander' Emblem Rear, Canvas/Slate Katzkin's Leather, Heated Front and Second Row Seats, CH-4100 4.5" DVD/NAV/iPod Headunit, 9" TView Rear Flip-Down Monitor, Accelvision RVC1100 Back-up Camera
