265/70/17 on a Stock Rim?

Its time for new tires. I currently have 255/75/17 Silent Armors. Put about 80k on them. Great tire btw. I think I would like to go with the GY Duratracs this time. They dont come in my current size. Closest is 265/70/17.

Can these be installed on my stock 7.5 inch rims?

Yes. I ran two sets of 265/70R17 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's on the stock wheels before I upgraded to 17x8's and 285/70's

265/70/17 stock rim works?

I've done EXTENSIVE reading on this subject the forum because I'm due for new tires to replace my stock size tires. Net, I don't want spacers. I have a 2" lift I installed, and want bigger tires. It would be great to install 265/70/17 on my stock rims (chrome clad). Several members have mentioned they did this with no issues clearing the bolt on the upper control arm. However, I noticed they had the aluminum wheels, not chrome clad. Has anyone run stock chrome clad rims with 265/70/17 with 2" lift and been happy with the result? Thanks for your input.

Tony

2007 Jeep Commander Limited 4.7, 2" lift + tow hooks added in case someone else needs them.

There is no difference in the wheels. They both have the same specs. So if you can find a brand tire in a 265/70R17 that will clear the ball joint bolt without spacers then go for it. Back in the day when I was running 265/70 MT/R's with Kevlar there was no clearing the ball joint bolt without spacers. I'm running 305/70's now but have different wheels
