Tire question

I am wanting to know do you have to do the pinch weld in order to run a 265/70R17. I have these wheels on it now 17X8 XD SERIES SPY WHEELS (+18MM OFFSET, 5.21 BACKSPACING) i am running 255/70 now. But would like to get a different tire when I have to purchase new tires.

I believe you will have rubbing unless you do the pinch weld mod. Here's a great thread on tire size if you haven't yet seen it. https://www.jeepcommander.com/forums/...ead.php?t=8393
Not sure if the back spacing on your wheels are good enough that it will not require spacers.

I used that page to decide what size I have now. My jeep is just a daily driver. It will never be taken off road that's why I didn't know if I could run the 265/70. Thanks for your input

I ran those before with stock rims and 1.25 spacers. I had to do the mod.
