Painted stock wheels

Sup guys got my xk a few months ago and the two tone alloy wheels had some corrosion.

So I sanded the face of the spokes down masked the insides off and went to work with some satin black.

Just can't wait for the lift and wheel spacers to get put

Nice work! After seeing this I might do this to mine until I can get my new wheel/tires. How much time per wheel approx.?

Looks awesome! I was thinking about doing the same to my rims. What sandpaper grit did you use? Did you clear coat them? I want to do mine in a flat black. Have you had any issues with chips in the paint? Sorry for all of the questions. If you could let me know I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!!

I used a satin black did about 6 coats per wheel , and no I didn't use any clear coat because I didn't want it to change the look of the satin
I used a couple different grits from course to really smooth but was really just focusing on the corrosion I had (still didn't get it all couldve spent a little more time on them but I didn't ) and yes every now and then I'll get a small chip but with a touch up paint pen they're easily fixed over all I'm really happy with the outcome thanks for digging it too.. I will ad the masking off of the inner spokes and center star was the longest and most tedious part of this job

Nicely done! I have a set of 17" from DJ1970 that I picked up five years ago. Want to do the same for them except in reverse with gray. The 18" chrone clad casino wheels are too ghetto for my tastes. No offense to anyone.
