Help w/Offset & Tire Size

I'm sure folks get tired of answering tire / wheel queries but i've got another one and would certainly appreciate your expert opinions.

I've currently got the OME HD 2" lift installed and would like to get some larger shoes for wintertime on-road driving and occassional off-roading.

I would prefer not to run wheel spacers.

I really like the

KMC XD Series Rockstar XD775 - The question is two fold:

1) There are two options on these rims
17x8" 10 mm offset 78.1 centerbore or
17x8" 35mm offset 72.6mm centerbore

Which offset do i need to go with for mimimal or no rubbing.

2) The tires i'm considering are either:
Nitto ExaGrappler 245/75R17

or

BFG AT 255/75R17

or

BFG MT 255/75R17

I feel like the 245 will probably not rub as much as the 255 but included the brands i was looking at because i realize from reading all the other posts that the tire manufacturer makes a difference in rubbing.

Thank you in advance for help!

If it were me I'd go with the +10 offset.

245/75's can fit a stock set up, so those would be fine.

255/75's might rub a little but it shouldn't be bad

Or you could run 265/70. That's what I have.

Grand Poobah -- do your 265/70 rub at all? How close is it lock to lock?

The research i've done say your 265/70 is 31.6 x 10.4

and the 255/75 would be 32.1 x 10.04 ... so i might gain a little ground clearance but with the extra .5 inch i wonder if it will rub more?

Any idea how my +10 offset would compare to your rims? In terms of where they would sit against the fender and top bolt?

Look at my pics. My rims are 0 offset with 265/70/17. So if you went with the 10mm offset it would set in 10mm from where mine sits.

Your math works out. If if remember correctly when I did my calcs earlier today, an 8" rim with +10 would stick out about 1/4 inch more than mine, really close. Mine basically sit flush on the fender line. My wheels are 8.5" with a +25 offset.

UCA bolt clearance is plenty. No worries there. I'm close in the pinch weld area (mine are still intact, not hammered down). When new, I had the tiniest little rub mark on the passenger side liner. I have no issues for DD or with minor flex with the wheels turned.

Thank you both for the thoughts... i did check out your pics...looks great.

Any thoughts on which tires to go with from my above?

Nitto / BFG MT / BFG AT

Should i have any concern that the MT would rub more then the AT or Nito?

I've never run a Nitto tire before, so can't offer an opinion on those...other than I like how those Exo Grapplers look. I love my Duratracs, and those look to be a similar AT/MT hybrid. Maybe take a shot and see how you like them or see if there's any reviews out there.

As for the BFG's, if you just want better snow performance and and some light wheeling I personally would go the the AT. I've run the AT on my old grand cherokee and was overall happy with them.

I currently have the MT on the wife's JK, and really not much of a fan. Granted I bought them used they're now coming to close to the end of their life, but the wet traction isn't real good and they're hard as rocks. And the bigger tread lugs may increase your chances of rub.
