wheel mishap

New to the site like what i have seen . Just purched a 06 commander limited got a great deal on it so i decided to buy some after market wheels for it. i got them off e-bay 1st mistake they are 22'' x 9.5 wheels .The post specificly stated they fit jeep commander, when the wheels arived i measured the lug pattern and turns out its 5x5.5 with a + 15 offset i know that i need a 5x5 and +35 offset however the nice gentlemen i purched the wheels from pulled a houdini on me and closed up shop so now i am stuck with the wheels my question to all is can i make them work i know i can get adapters to change bolt pattern but will the + 15 offset work or not? sorry not sure were i posted this

Thats an easy fix. The only problem is the wheels will stick out further then the fender flares. You can purchase wheel adapters to convert 5x5 to 5x5.5 from either spidertrax or wheeladapter.com (best wheel spacers/adapters money can buy, but cost a little more) that are 1 inch thick. A little grinding of the oem studs will be needed with spacers under 1.25 inches.

Did a little calculating and those 22x9.5 with + 15mm offset is equal to 5.84 BS. Stock wheels are 6.5 so those wheels would stick out less then 3/4 of an inch further then stock if they had the proper bolt pattern. That wouldnt really be all that noticable and still would be tucked inside the fender.

Now if you added a 1 inch adapter/spacer in theory you would now have 4.84 BS so you would definately be sticking out side the fender. It would stick out a little further then guys that use the 1.5 inch spidertrax on there XK's.

Hope this helps!

If you cant find those 1 inch adapters with spidertrax, give Fred a call from wheeladapters.com and he will help you out. Just remember though, with the 1 inch spacers youll have to shave a hair off of the studs since the oem studs are a hair over 1 inch long. If you have any questions PM me and I can help you out!
