XK Leaning left...

I have noticed this at times but never remember to check it. Figured I would post and then maybe I will remember to get out there with a measuring tape, flat ground and figure it out.

Before the lift it appeared that my XK leans a tad to the drivers side by a inch or two. Anyone else notice this or have advice to cure this? Besides telling the tubby guy in the drivers seat to loose weight?

I've noticed that about mine once too. Or at least I thought it looked like it was leaning. Never thought about measuring. I drove it later on that day and got out and it sat level again. I don't know if it was how I parked or if it was just that I'm a heavy guy and put my weight on it when getting out. Its just one of those mysteries.

I always feel like mine is leaning to the right - but I'm always attributed it to the road slope.

Maybe check your shocks. I was driving around on a blown shock for a couple weeks and didn't realize it - presumably that might have an impact?

Shocks have nothing to do with a vehicles stance.
They only are dampers to stop bounce.
If we could remove all four, the vehicle height would not be affected.

If you want a good measure point, use the subframe behind the front wheels to ground distance for front and the rear trailing arm at pivot point to ground for rear.
Before measuring, make certain all tire pressures are the same and fuel level is about 1/2 full.
The hardest part will be finding a level spot to park.
Best success is inside a building, shop, warehouse, etc. where flat floors are necessary.
There are very few level parking lots.
Remember to take that 1/2 ton of shisnik you've been hauling around out of the car.

Whenever the vehicle has been raised it will enhance a leaning look, so thats why I recommend a formal measurement.

Lumberjim posted several months ago that his XK was dropping and it turned out his spacers were failing, or had failed.

If you are the only person in the vehicle, all things being equal, would the Jeep lean to the left? (Providing the one person is on the left side)

If one shock was bad, let us preseume it is a left one, would that cause the vehcile to drop on the left with our 200 lb person?

The weight left of center would contribute to lean.
Again, the shock condition would not contribute to static height in any way.

The spacer fracturing is a good point and often overlooked.
