Let me jump on the bandwagon with a twist. I think it is a mom mobile because my wife drives it all the time and by the end of the week it is a rolling closet with her stuff and kidstuff. When I decide to pass the Wrangler on to the oldest son get the wife a sport wagon the Commander will become a man mobile. However, she too is already complaining about how small her tires are and complaining about how short her Commander is. So, maybe sooner than later will it graduate from a mom mobile. She said when her Forteras wear out she would be ready for an upgrade!

Definitely not a mom mobile at my house. After the lift and larger tires my wife is afraid to drive it.

I still have yet to see a lifted commander in my area besides mine. All the commanders here are driven by soccer moms.

Same here- I see many stock XK's in this area but no lifted ones yet. It sure does get their attention when we pass.

I see street rigs in my area but no other off road Commanders with lifts (except those on this forum).

I own one and I definitely have to admit that it's a mom mobile here in South Texas. Everyone on the road with a Commander, with only a few exceptions, is a soccer mom behind the wheel. Sorry... the data as observed stands for itself.

That being said. I couldn't care less. The Discovery I, Disco II, and LR3 are huge well-heeled mom mobiles that will never see life off the pavement, yet they're very capable (if not overpriced) off-road vehicles as well. Don't even get me started on Range Rovers...

By the way, the first thing my wife said when we drove the Commander home was, "When do you think you can put a lift kit on it, I don't like it so low".

I prefer not to read through 108 posts on this subject to see if anyone noticed that from the factory the designers added a true "Mom Mobile" feature. The plastic grocery bag handle holder on the back of the 3rd row seats. There you have it. If it is stock it's a mom mobile. If it has been modified it a cool ride.

Is that what that thing is? I always wondered.
