I agree completely. I've actually PMed 49er several times to tell him that he's not being a good/fair moderator. I also feel that his moderator skills are lacking, but I think he'll learn as he goes along. IMO, his biggest mistake is that he doesn't know when to leave things alone. It's ironic how much of an impact on a forum can be made by a good or bad moderator.

This isnt the thread to do it on, and should be moved to another thread.

The moderator position is volunteer work. tr4 have you aver asked for something to be done as opposed to being combative?

49er has made some errors, but he has also obtained a new section for us, made better use of stickeys, and banned jeep5253. See, he has done a number of good things too.

Just kidding jeep5253, it was no fun on your part and it was a mistake, not a personal attack on you. One thing I thing many people miss here is if you ask jeep5253 to help you find something, he will and he is very good at it.

Romeo I know you and 49er have had differences, you two need to spoke a peace pipe. Both of you are great memebers and contributors to the forum. You don't have to agree on anything. Cut each other some slack....I dont care who started it.

I know from experience, if you ask something of 49er, he will do it. Make creative suggestions, he will work on it. This is one of the few forums where i have seen suggestions actually come to life. They are interested in what we have to say....ok 49er is interesdted....the admin, well I can't speak to that.

ok </soapbox>

It wouldn't be any more work for the mods once the system was in place to not allow creating topics in the Sale section until someone has 25 posts. I haven't really seen 49 do anything worse than more experienced mods at other sites. If someone else wants to step up, I'm sure there is room for more than one mod. Maybe...

ok
I'm not being combative. I'm just calling it the way I see it. IMO, a moderator should be here to make the forum a better place. That should be his or her primary function. And quite honestly, I haven't really seen that happen.

Personal feelings should be kept out of the equation for the most part. And I'm obviously not alone in thinking that's not the case. Look, I'm not bashing anyone, I'm just saying that sometimes people have to learn as they go along. If not, then things can head downhill quickly.

And have you look at the member list? have you seen how many members we have that have never post here? and that their nick is like "free-Iphone" or that blue pill...

But in this forum the only posts that get deleted are those that "a" mod don't like, or he is the only one that think that is off topic...

I think this is off-topic but it needs to be addressed. I believe that our moderation team here is doing an excellent job... and I might add that it is a thankless job without pay, where much time is dedicated to serve the community without compensation.

If you have a problem with the moderation, please PM me. I'll take it up with the rest of the moderation team if I believe an issue exists... but to try to bad mouth the guy in public is just wrong. A power hungry mod would just delete it and ban you, but that is not the team we want or have here. So I would please ask that you use the proper channels and methods to communicate your displeasure to me, via PM. I can't always respond right away but I'll do my best to step in when I feel there has been something done incorrectly... to date, I have not seen that. I think a49erfan has done an excellent job... (and thats saying something, i'm a die hard cowboys fan).

So, please, in the future lets keep the 'your doing your job wrong' type discussions in private.

Now, onto the regularly scheduled discussion...

Yeah, that's a real mature statement. No need for insults. Give it a rest.
