OK, real answer. Snake the wires down the C-pillar (be sure to go over/behind the airbags) and along the door sill up to the driver's footwell. Meanwhile, pull a power lead from the battery and a ground from the chassis; route wires through the main rubber grommet in the firewall and meet your first cables in the footwell. Integrate a relay. Run your A/V cables up behind the spedo and to the headunit. Along this same route run a wire to tap into the left cig. lighter socket- this is your trigger for the relay. Double check all your connections, then enjoy a reliable power source when the car is on, and automatic power-down when you remove the key.
