Mounting a CB

I have a 2008 Commander sport. I was just curious if anyone has any ideas or pics of good mounting spots for a CB, I was thinking above the rear view mirror, in the cubby hole. Good idea or no??

Welcome to the forum. Use the search function - there are pictures with a CB mounted above the rear view mirror as you stated, and also in the cubby to left of the steering wheel. After 07, Chrysler moved the switch for the power pedals to this cubby, so if you have powered pedals, a CB might not fit the 08's and above in this location.

I've got mine in the cubby above the mirror. Check post 152 in the thread cico linked. It barely fit. I had to cut alot of the plastic out but running the wires as easy.

I was reading jcoulters post he referenced in the last post, he mentioned
adding a 3" spring to his antenna. I did the same thing before I replaced it
with the whip antenna. That springs takes a lot of tension off the mount.

I put mine in the cubby to the left of the wheel. I attached a 12 volt ( cigarette lighter ) plug so it is easily removed. When I want to use it I run the antennae out thru the rear door jamb.
