power window shades

well i was googling a bit for kits to build electric outdoor blinds for my patio, and i thought, how cool would it be if they made these for vehicles? then i thought, why stop with shades, why not make the blinds reflective on the outside and completely block out all sunlight, basically like those foil sunscreens people here put across their windsheilds when they go into the store. basically like that, but you can open and close them at the touch of a button like a 2nd window. it would be great to wire them up to your alarm too, so when your alarm is armed, the blinds close, and they open when disarmed. makes me think of the batmobile from the first movie with michael keaton. "batmobile armed" lol. how great would it be to close them all up when camping in the back with the seats down? or when your little ones are in the back seat asleep and the sun is in their eyes. anyhow i got to researching it and mercedes actually does have something similar. i knew beamers had them for the rear windows in the 7-series cars too. as square as our windows and windshields are, i wonder how difficult it would be to create this. any thoughts? is this product already out there for us? or is there something similar that can be used? this is a very common feature for RVs. i wonder if they could be retro-fitted or custom made at a reasonable price. anyone familiar with these? any downfalls to this idea that i'm not seeing?

here's the mercedes one i'm referring to:

I have them in my other cars and they roll into the door. I see no way really to retrofit them to any car without some crazy modifications.

I know they make actual glass that when electrified goes a smoky color and you can't see threw it I think they have paint that changes color depending on the frequency of electricity it gets. I can't remember where or on what show I saw this on.

[email protected] the em-50. i love that movie.

i was actually thinking of slim low-profile roman shades. i'd imagine shades built into the door would cost more to do that it's worth. i wasn't thinking of them being completely invisible when not in use, but if the roller was slim enough to not be noticed and not get in the way i think it would be pretty cool. i've only seen them for RVs, but here in the desert i could put something like that to good use for sure!
