Center dash bulb replacement

The bulb behind my A/C controls burned out and when I drive at night (which seems like all the time) I can't see the controls. Has anyone done this replacement?

I am working on this great fix myself. I have one question, I am not able to salvage the blue covers from my factory bulbs. How was everyone able to gain the factory matching green light through all the dials and buttons?
I replaced a few already and they shine with a white light that doesn't look to nice when all the others are green. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Do you really have to go buy a sodering iron to change a bulb!?

Does anyone know what the warranty from Jeep will cover on this issue? I have an '06 with about 80K miles...

Your warranty would be out at this point, wouldn't it? It's either DIY or buy a new unit for $100~.

Don't thank jeep

The part is a chrysler sourced item. I think it is used fleet wide on chryco vehicles. Mine just quit on the selector knob. I will probably do the fix soon-unless the self pick yard has one from a chryco product. Then I will bore some holes in it and convert it somehow to a bulb system that makes sense.
