Dash disassembly? iPod and radar detector wiring.

I am going to install a Ipod integration kit, and a hardwire for my Escort Radar detector. I will need to remove the top of the dash for both, as the directions on eBay say for the ipod kit.

Has anyone installed one of these ipod kits? How hard is it to get the dash apart, and then back on right? i am technically inclined, but not when it comes to vehicles.

This is the kit I am getting for my RAQ unit: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...7722&rd=1&rd=1

thanks!

Not hard at all......16 screws and the dash comes off...pretty straightforward

I have mine off right now, some of the 16 are decorative and do not have to be removed. When I get home I will let you know which ones to leave in if you have not pulled them all by then, No harm if you do. It was so easy!

I am installing my iPod connections as well as the DVD player.

There are 16 bolts in the dash, you only need to remove the ones marked as an X

OX XO OX XO
XO XX XX OX

You will see how the four sections of bolts are when you look at the dash.
