Roof Rack w/ Light Bar

I am not too impressed yet with the roof rack/lightbar mounting hardware. As you can see in the image above, the rack is held on by two brackets on each side and they are bolted to the factory roof rails with a too small washer and bolt. I have not wired the lights yet because I think I will change out the brackets and bolt the whole roof rack to a set of the Mopar sport bars. Also, the Pro Comp lights seem too small for the lightbar's height. I just don't know how I'm feeling about it. At the Jeep dealer, everyone in the Jeep service area thought the rack/lightbar was cool cause they had not seen a Commander with something like that yet.

I also added the skid plates on but didnt feel like climbing under the Jeep to snap a photo.

Parts on order or that have come in that are not installed yet: 4" SuperLift Kit, 17x8.5 wheels and 285/70R17 Tires, Rocky Road Slider Rocker Rails.

Here are the links to the items I have put on so far:

And yes, I am doing all this because I plan to put this Jeep on the trail. I have signed up for a few Jeep Jamborees to get my feet wet with a few fellow Jeep owners before I venture out on my own. Can't wait!

As for the D-ring, its a Baja part and it came from JcWhitney..link is in above post.

Re: Parts have started rolling in...

I have installed the door guards, new antenna, DVD player (inprogress), taillight guards since my last photos. The skid plates, Gibson and lift are on the garage floor along with the spacers and light brackets for the megawarrior.

Re: Parts have started rolling in...

Cant wait to see how yours comes out. Since your in AZ and I'm in NM, we will have to meet up some time with our completed Commanders and hit a trail or two.

Re: Parts have started rolling in...

That is a fantastic idea! Maybe a SW Commander showing?
