Anybody remove the 3rd row?

I was wondering if anyone has removed the 3rd row seats, and if the floor below is fairly flat, or not. It looks like the tool tray can be pulled out also to make the whole rear area the same level. Has anyone done that, either?
I could use the extra cargo space more often than I use the 3rd row.

Re: Anybody remove the 3rd row?

I think I have seen a couple of threads talking about this. Here is one of them...

https://www.jeepcommander.com/forums/...highlight=tray

I think it is not very flat once the seats are removed. You would definitely have to make some sort of floorboard to level it out.

Also I don't think the space gains would be very much, the 3rd row seats fold very flat. Maybe 4 or 5 inches would be gained? But every little bit helps if you need it ...

Re: Anybody remove the 3rd row?

Thanks for finding that thread for me - lots of useful info. It looks like it might be what I need to do.
I would be totally sold if those bolts were not protruding from the floor.

3rd row seat

Just got done taking the 3rd row out. Man that middle bolt is a Pain!
Love how much more room I have in the back! In the last 2.5 years I have used the 3rd row a total of 2 times and it was was more for fun than anything else. So glad it is out and wish I had done it sooner.
