Need to replace or cover this compartment panel.

What is this panel called? It's the compartment panel above the glove compartment. It's scratched up so I wanted to replace or cover with some sort of film (Real Tree camo) or something. Thoughts? Anyone done this?

2010 Jeep Commander Sport 5.7 Hemi. Thanks.

it comes off with the complete front of the panel that goes from driver to passenger side . just cover it in a vinyl, remove the (16) 5mm hex screws to pull panel off of truck

Mine can be pulled off. No screw removal required. Pops back in place.

The wife tried to use it as a handle to help her out of the vehicle...

You can try pushing lightly on it to see if it snaps into place. Mine is a 2010 sport and it won't snap in. (My daughter also thought it was a handle not too long after I got it)

Makes sense that it is part of the dash panel and not a separate piece. Mine doesn't snap back together. It is broken on one end but you can't tell by looking at it. There were scrapes on the front of that panel so I ordered some RealTree camo vinyl and covered it and it looks great. Covering it did the trick. No more scrapes and it almost looks like it was supposed to always be that way.

I just tell people when they are new to my vehicle not to use it as a handle.

Pretty neat on vinyl wrapping it, but new passenger could easily think its a handle.
