Cool hood scoop ideas

I have an older hood scoop kicking around and am playing with the idea of throwing it on my commander, not sure whether or not I would make it permanent and functional, that is to say if it even makes it on the Jeep. Im not sure if I like it so far to the front, but I would rather not relocate the windshield washer fluid nozzles I snapped a few quick photos, let me know what you think. I look to base my decision by reviewing YOUR opinions! Regards, Nick.

I think the black on white looks great. Looks cool from straight ahead, but from the side it looks too far forward.

I've thought about getting a set of those dual hood scoops just to see how it looks. There is a WJ around that has them on and it looks really good.

Bright Silver 4.7L 2.25 RR/OME lift, Kumho KL71 265/70/17, Flashpaq, Lights, rack, intake, Super44, mopar skids, 4x belly guard, rear fog lights, MM9500 winch, GetLost4x4 winch mount

I like the look. I disagree with the black on white. Doesnt have to be functional but needs to be painted to match. Just because it seems to be farther forward then what the eye is used to seeing on other vehicles doesnt mean anything. I would paint it and mount it.

I HATE the dual hood scoops on SUVs. Makes them look like cheap teenager crap IMHO. That scoop you've got there looks pretty cool though, almost hummer like. That's kind of what our jeeps can be designed to do so it sort of makes sense.

USMCMP, I never really thought of it that way, when you mentioned it is just what the eye is used to seeing on other vehicles. Good point. and the colour of the hood scoop is just a darker primer. If I decide to stick it on, it will definately be matched to the xk. If it was black on white I feel it would look to..... tacky or cheap? -for lack of a better term. Even though it is a cheap way to imitate ram air. On the other hand, if I could get a decent looking functional ram air hood I wouldnt waste my time with contemplating the idea of a hoodscoop. But, thats what I get for buying a vehicle that the aftermarket industry seems to turn the other cheek on

Gotta agree with Rob on the looks too far forward. I would move it back but then you have to relocate the washer nozzles onto the scoop. A shot from the front with scoop backwards would be interesting, and putting it backwards would let you move it back with the nozzles in the opening.
