Removal of door moldings

The stock plastic moldings are just double stick taped on? If so, man these things are really on there!

Is there a easy/safe way to remove them?

I believe they are held on by a combination of tape and clips. I had the dealer do mine - traded black for chrome.

once you remove the trim panels you can go by a body shop and they sell a big rubber eraser type of thing that you put in a power drill, run it on a low speed and it will get it all off pretty easily and won't damage the paint. then just go through with some polishing compound and it will look as good as new.
