Exclamation HELP! Can not get large grommet on driver side re-installed

I thought I was being clever and instead have a problem I can't seem to correct!

In the process of trying to feed driving light wiring through the large grommet on the driver side (just next to the master cylinder and behind the ESP module), I managed to seperate the blue round disk from the grommet.

I borrowed a picture of how it is supposed to look here from Member "Going Commando"...

From fire wall / engine side

From under dash

How the heck do I get the lip of the grommet back around the blue backing plate disk?

I tried to unbolt the master cylinder and ESP module to try to get just a little more room and still I can't get this stuff back together.

HELP!!!!!!!

Did you ever get this fixed? I would try spraying some soapy water on the grommet lip to see if that would help getting it back over the lip.

My Dodge Magnum has a similar grommet and that's where I went through when running a power wire to my relay. I used an insulation joist hanger -- it's about the thickness of a wire hanger with a sharpened end and just punched through the grommet from the engine bay to the interior. The wire was taped to the hanger and I just threaded it through.
