Hid

I just installed a HID kit for the 9145 stock fog lights and couldn't be happier.

I ordered the following kit from Amazon for $60 shipped:

Zenex HID Conversion Kit H10/9145 6000K (Diamond White)

Now I just need to do the headlights. A few weeks back I put PIAA's in. They say 135w equivalent, but they don't appear to be as bright as stock.

The high beam PIAA's (put in at same time) do appear slightly brighter than stock.

I have no experience with VVME or HIDs in general outside of this purchase, but mine claim a 3 year warranty and VVME come with 1 year standard and 2 years for an additional $15.

Are they actually white? Normally these HIDs are blue or have a bluish tint which is why I haven't done them yet.

The 6000s start off white but will get a bluish tint once they are worn in. I've used vvme in all my cars and have yet to have a problem.

I went with 6000 because I wanted white and one of the other advertisers gave a color chart that showed 6000 as white.

So far they are white. I'll update the board if I notice a change.

What number do you recommend I want them to remain white?

where did you mount the ballasts for the fog lights install? I'm doing the fogs next. I already did the high beams, but I am regretting it now because I can't use my daytime runing lights anymore.

I mounted the ballasts in the bumper right under the fog lights. It probably isn't the best place as I've already hacked the center out of the bumper and it can't be too strong there..... but it seems to be holding up.

Also, if you off-road and might want to do a water crossing it would probably be good to get them up higher.

Yeah, for now they're just loose, but damn it looks sharp, I'm shopping for some mounting foam right now.
