Aftermarket Sunroof

I made an appointment to get a HOLLANDIA 700 SERIES inbuilt sunroof installed in my 06 Commander. A little nervous about having a hole drilled in my Jeep. Anyone out there had a AM sunroof put in yet? How did it look?

Note: I have a 02 WK with a after market sunroof (Airsole or something) and it has worked out great. Thanks.

Re: Aftermarket Sunroof

Well, as I type, my Commander is getting a hole drilled in the roof. Should be ready tomorrow (Friday). I'll post pictures this weekend. Apparently, the company I have doing the work has put in 2 other sunroofs on Commanders and according to them, they turned out perfect.

Still.. I'm a bit nervous.

Re: Aftermarket Sunroof

I had one put in mine last year. They cut the hole too big and had to end up welding on a whole new roof! Then the interior got damaged when they were welding so the leather had to be repaced along with the dash and the carpet. They couldn't get the paint to match either. They had to repaint the whole car. Then the electronics wouldn't work right so they had to install in entirely new wire harness. Well to make a long story short the faulty wiring caused the engine to overheat and it cracked the heads. The good news is everything is running fine now and I am just pulling your leg about the sunroof install because I have no idea if there any good or not.

Re: Aftermarket Sunroof

I have an aftermarket power sunroof installed. Looks good IMO, works good. The only thing that I didn't like at first is where they put the switch. It's was placed on the headliner just to the left of the area where the stock switch is located. But it doesn't look bad and is easy to use.

John

That's exactly where they said they are going to place my controls.

Thanks Walkjon, I was moving a little slowly this morning, but now my heart rate is up and I'm wide awake.
