Grill Lights Installation

Hey All,

I decided that I wanted to add some accent lighting to the mander. After looking for lights on ebay, I went with these strobe lights from China, but sold from someone in the US

So because strobes are illegal in NJ I decided to just wire them direct to a switch. The kit came with 6 lights, but I only used three

I cut off the white stock connecters and used spade connectors

And tested the connection using jumper clips to the battery

After making the necessary connections to the other two lights and testing, I removed the grill and attached the lights to the inside

I attached one in the middle, skipped one slot to the right and to the left and mounted the other lights

I then made positive and negative wires to attach to the connectors on the lights

And connected all three positive wires

I repeated the same for the negative.

I decided to run the grill lights off of the fog light circuit.

There is an access panel for the fog lights located on the wheel well

I measured the length of wire I would need from the three wire butt connector to the fog light connector and made the necessary connection for both the positive and negative.

I removed the driver side fog light connector

And spiced in the positive wire (from the grill lights) to the positive side of the fog light connector

For the negative side, I connected to the ground bolt on the body (by the battery.

I tested the lights

Fog light is off because connector is not connected to light at this time.

I connected the fog light and the fog light as well as the grill lights worked correctly.

After confirmation that the lights were operational, I routed the wires on the top of the grill so that they cannot be seen.

Reinstalled the grill and wallah

Here she is at night

Yes, I know what voila is as I took French in school. But I didn't know what wallah was.

Looks good man. I like how they reflect off the bottom of the grill too.
