Advice Re: Rear Tow Point

I'm new to off-roading and need a tow point for the rear of my vehicle. I have the factory trailer hitch and am looking at shackles that attach or a tow hook that attaches. Any advantages to one over the other?

I also have the loop style, purchased it yesterday for $29 at 4WheelParts and then took it out and had it powdercoated black.

Re: Advice Re: Rear Tow Point

I like the shackle style better myself but really it depends on the degree in which you plan on pulling someone or something!

I believe the hook style works well if you just have get get someone or yourself off of an obstacle but if you are pulling at wierd angles the shackle just makes sense
