LED Headlights - I have searched...

Hello,

Anyone have real world experience with a particular kit? I know we have the CANBUS/TIPM issue. I have always ran DDM Tuning kits HID kits but installed one and the lights would blink when turning the lights off. Also blinked when engine running if headlights were not on. I do not want a dissertation on resistors and such...just seeing if anyone has used a CANBUS/TIPM designed LED kit like OPT7 from Amazon. Cannot find a review for a Jeep on their. Looking for plug and play with the resistors/module needed. I tried a module on the HID kit and it did nothing. Found a review for the OPT7 resistor kit on a 2006 WK and he said it didn't work. Anyone running a plug and play kit that works?
Thanks.

Appears my issue is due to the PWM (pulse width modulation). Anyone know of an LED plug and play kit to compensate for this?

Rusty;

I don't have any experience with the particular kit your are referring to.

When I decided to upgrade to LED headlights I went with Putco's Silver-Luxs.

They are pricey, but they come with everything you need including anti-flicker harnesses.

I've had them for a little over a year now with no issues.

These are HID's not LED's.

That's why they are only $50.00

I know back when searching around for my wj I was reading that HID headlights needed hid specific housings or the light pattern would throw differently. Is that the same with the xk's? I think I saw somewhere that the 2009's and up came with HID headlights (or maybe they were just an option) do they have different headlights housings?

Sorry forgot this thread was about LED not HID dont want to jack the thread. So I guess big blue, did you have issue when swapping to LED bulbs with light scattering or dispersion since the bulb shape was different than stock?

They are extremely Brite, only 30 watts and work great. On the other hand, I have LED backup lights that look great, but disperse the light rather than project and they are not practical... You can only see about 10 feet back.
I'm
My mistake on led vs hid in the OP.
