APEX Roof basket

Well i just ordered the APEX roof basket so as soon as i get it on i will post some pics. I went with the apex because it was the widest one i could find at 43.5inches (52.5in long) for a great price. I wanted something that would fill the roof of my commander. I really wanted the yakima mega warrior which is 48in wide X 52in long but i couldn't muster paying $400. i only paid 99 plus 34 for shipping. It has a 150lb capacity and i can also get the extension for 50 bucks... verses an extension for the yakima is 135.

ill post pics as soon as i get it on and let y'all know what i think

It looks like there are a few different Apex racks out there. Why didn't you opt for the X-Large model? The measurements I found on on that one are 62.5x45.

2006 XK Limited, Hemi, QDII
245/70R17 General Grabber AT2s
Ported/Polished Throttle Body
Flowmaster Super 44
Stock Height Again (For Now)

Nice. I have a Cort rack and it is on the thin side; LOTS of space on the sides of the rack. May go Rhino in the future but will have to save up for that for a while.

Pics of the new roof rack!!!

I got the roof rack with 4 days which was fast! Easy to put together and mount. I should have hit it with some anti rust spray but never got around to it and wanted it up on the jeep. Im sure i will have to soon though.. Anyway, tell me what y'all think.

That's looks sharp - very similar to my Rola Vortex roof basket.

And you're right about the anti-rust spray, I have to take mine off every year or year and a half to sand it down and re-spray it.

I use Rustoleum hammered paint & primer in one and even went as far as to seal all the joints and screws with silicone to make sure no water can get inside the steel tubing and it doesn't matter, the surface rust always starts to come back after a year or so.

It's kind of a pain in the @$s really.

looks good, this is without the extension correct? I really want to throw a basket on but I will have to find a way to mount it lower as it wont fit in my garage if I mount on top of the crossbars.
