Just curious if anyone has installed the K&N CAI on there 4.7, and if so are you happy with the results, how much better does your engine perform?

The K&N will give you a different sound. Kinda like rushing air under the hood. It also cleans up and gets rid of a lot of plastic and some restriction / sound deadening.

I also used to live in St. Johnsbury, VT.

Here is what my K&N looks like:

Now mostly in Palm Springs but still a resident of Vermont.

2007 Jeep Green Limited 4.7 Flex Fuel, RR 2.5" 4 inch Superlift coils on rear, 1.5" Spacers, Bridgestone 265/70/17, K&N CAI, Flowmaster, Diamond Plate Locking Trunk, Blue Ox Baseplate w/D-rings, "Get Lost 4X4" Front Bumper, T-Max 9000 winch, "Get Lost rear tire carrier, 30 gal second gas tank.
Second 2007 Jeep Green Limited Leather HEMI QDII VES Uconnect Flowmaster OEM Skids Tow Package

Maybe the two will meet up soon edit: they did , I now have 2,now gave 1 away...and got it back again.

Huey, what do you use to clean your engine?? It looks nice! I've looked everywhere for an engine detailer that brings it that shiny look and can't find anything...

Actually I don't clean it very often. Sometimes I do have it detailed along with the rest of the Commander. When I do it myself I use either Simple Green or the regular can of Gunk engine degreaser. I usually use Armorall on the hoses and plastic. Also it was almost new when I put the K&N CAI on and took that picture.

Oh that magic can of stuff. I misunderstood you. Sure that magic can is available exclusively thru a special offer. $99.99 a can plus shipping. I also got some special solvent called "Prop Wash", we used it around Hueys all the time

LOL, no thanks! I'll do it using the "labor intensive" way! I when I bought my Jeep, I noticed a small dent on the passenger side door just below the window seal. I took it back to the dealer and demanded they fix it, they called out their paint less repair guy and he couldn't get to it because there's some kind of brace there, so I settled for bottle of this stuff called xzilion, they told me it costs 500.00 (I think theres only like 12oz in a bottle) bottle it's supposed to make your paint vandle proof, road tar, bird poo, the whole nine yards... the sales manager told me they used it on a Lime green Charger RT and then spray painted it, the next morning the Owner came in screaming what the hell happened??! The guys went out there and laughed, and wiped the spray paint right off!! (I would LMAO if it didn't come off) I use that once a year on my Jeep, bottom line is I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a product...even if it is "that good"

BTW HueyPilotVN, the VT stands for Virginia Tech, sorry for the confusion...I did used to live in Maine however for a couple of years. I also see you're a pilot, my brother just dropped for the KC-135 as an AF pilot.

Nice pics as well HueyPilot...VERY clean under the hood. I'm curious why you chose the black tube over metal?
