Exclamation HOW TO: Change Spark Plugs in the 4.7 V8

HOW TO: Change Spark Plugs on the 4.7 V8 Commander

tools:

10mm wrench
5/8 spark plug socket
ratchet wrench
extensions
screw drivers.

time needed:
mechanical experience: 30 minutes
what mechanical experience?: 1 hour

benifits: engine will love you, it runs better, better gas mileage.

this is what it looks like under the hood.



remove your intake system and hoses to get to here.




buy your favorite spark plug.

disconnect the wire on the plug coil. remove the retaining nut with a 10mm wrench or socket.



remove plug coil.



use your plug puller and ratchet to remove the plug



change all 8 plugs. reinstall your coils, bolt them back down, install the wires. install your intake. bammm, your done.

if there are any questions let me know.

also, if this is your first time (virign mechanic) just take your time

i hand tighten my plugs. i do not use a torque wrench. i get mine hand snugged down. then i turn the wrench about 1/4 turn more. it seems to work good for me. i also add a bit of anti-seize on my spark plug threads. that way they do not become galled up in aluminum heads.
