Smile Off Road Package 06

I signed the papers today on a Hemi Limited with all the bells and whistles - Inferno red. It's being shipped from Virginia and should arrive in PA tomorrow, so I probably won't sleep well tonight... like a kid on Christmas eve!

I tried to get the "Commander Off-Road Package 06" as listed on Jeep's web site. The dealer told me that he cannot get this as a package option, but would need to order each accessory independently and then add in labor costs, with the total coming to around $2,800 (compared with $1,800 on Jeep.com). Has anyone else tried or actually gotten this package?

Re: Off Road Package 06

Congrats on the new Commander! We have the Inferno Red also,,"Inferno Red Rocks"!! We have the 4.7 motor. We live in Virginia, hey neighbor. Did you get the front and rear Electric LSD's? My sticker says we have the Customer Preferred Package 28H which includes the trailer tow group IV, Off Road Group II w/all the skids, tow hooks, 6CD Nav Radio, P245/65R17 OWL All Terrain Tires. Happy trails!

Re: Off Road Package 06

It has everything but the engine block heater and chrome wheels. Hopefully it will arrive from VA today (I live in PA now). The funny thing was that I used to live in NoVA years ago, and bought my first Jeep from the same dealer that this Commander is coming from. I told my wife it was a sign that God wanted me to have this Commander...

I used to take my TJ on trails in the Shenendoah - it's really beautiful out there. I'm hoping to find similar trails in PA.

Unfortunately those "packages" are just groups of Mopar accessories. Each dealer is allowed to charge their own prices (although most stick with the MSRP) and their own labor costs (which vary from dealer to dealer).

I decided to just wait for aftermarket. The $75 per hour for labor is steep, and the parts themselves aren't cheap either.

Re: Off Road Package 06

I wouldn't want the front and rear LSD either....because the Liberty also comes with the rear LSD (option), I don't have it on my Liberty. Anyways, owners who do have it commonly complain about having to change the oil twice as often as an open diff. They also have to purchase a friction modifier (expensive) each oil change. If you don't add it, the diff starts shuddering. I plan on installing an air locker in the future.
