Hi , new here.

I don't have a Commander, but for a while I was really into the H3 hummer, but compairing the 2 dollar for dollar, the Commander gives you more features and Options and I'm really warming up to the idea of a commander as it reminds me of a giant XJ.

Re: Hi , new here.

I'm so tempted when the time comes, that instead of the Hummer, get the Commander istead. The Commander looks bigger and I might loose some off road ability versus the Hummer, but I see more bang for the buck, bottom line.

Re: Hi , new here.

Baaaah, Don't get me started on the Offroad part. Does the Hummer have a Hemi? Does it have Front and Rear locks? Yes, it has bigger tires off the lot, but that is an easy swap ( I did it). All around, there is no comparison. The Commander actually compares to an H2.5. Smaller than the H2 and much more refined than the H3. Leaf springs are old school. The H3 is more like the Durango, and neither can leave a Jeep.

Drive both, I did. Just to be sure you love it. One drive and I was hooked. Plus, I am a Jeep guy, so it was a no thinker for me.

Good luck to ya either way.

Re: Hi , new here.

There are alot of things to like about the Comander, I just love those sky lights, that and the H3 dosen't have sterring wheel controls (big deal to me) the Commander have nice little features like that.

Re: Hi , new here.

I was going to drive the h3 but after all the research, I didn't even bother. Underpowered status symbol that has great off-road ability and looks really cool too. I can't get over the power , ride and comfort of the commander. We don't have the skylights on ours but you know; our 4runner has a moon roof and we hardly ever use it so it was no big deal to me. They sure look sweet though. My wife got pissed at me when I was looking at the liberty renegade at the dealer. I think it's pretty cool; kind of rally style. I hear that it is a pos but imagine how a little vehicle like that would go if you put one of the v-8's in it!

Re: Hi , new here.

The H3 is just geared low and it is not for a lack of power as people complain, but withthat said the commander has a nicer Interior than the Hummer in my opinnion. I just think if you spend 40k on a vehicle little things like sterring wheel controls matter to me.

Re: Hi , new here.

A friend of mine bought a Hummer- I stopped by his house to check it out. I chuckled at him when I found out that he has to park it in the driveway because it is to tall to fit in his garage.

Re: Hi , new here.

I just traded in my Land Rover Discovery and knew I would NEVER buy one of those again and my husband thought we would be in the same boat with a Hummer, so ... the only other option to me was the Commander. It was the only other vehicle I could get two rows of skylights in. Now that I have had it for three weeks, I love how it drives and how comfortable it is.
