Got into an accident with the Commander....

I got hit by a driver attempting to cut across traffic yesterday on his way to the liquor store, and I have a few quick questions about what I should be looking for as far as any 'hidden' damage that may have been caused. I know that she has a uniframe body, but how can i tell if the integrity of it has been compromised? I am also thinking I should request to have the whole front end replaced, as far as the axle, struts, control arms, etc, as I dont want to run into any problems further down the road. She's an 08, but I still have about 4 years left to pay, and just want to make sure I dont get jipped with the repairs and have to pay for them later on down the road. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a picture of the damage, but Im not sure how to post it on here.

Brandon

I would take it to your dealer's body shop. They are the experts on your vehicle and they will find any hidden damage. I was hit last spring, and visually it appeared to be only the doors on the passenger side. The front door frame was too bent on the inside to reuse, so they had to replace the whole door. The rear door was reskinned (no hidden damage). They also found the "B" pillar to be bent in, so the Jeep spent a day and a half on the frame machine. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean there is no damage. They will check for everything, because ultimately when you get it back, their reputation is on the line.

Would any dealer be able to look at it? I bought it in San Angelo, and live in Lubbock so I wont be able to take it to the same one i bought it at. The hood looks pretty straight, but my lower control arm snapped like Tony Romo in the playoffs. The guy got me on the lower front end on the driver side.

Any Jeep dealer, but from experience, my dealer treats me extremely well because I purchased mine new from them.

You are welcome. As you can see by these pictures, it doesn't look too bad. The back door worked OK, but I really had to slam the front door to get it to stay closed. You can see the front door is bent out at the top. The door frame was too bent to reuse - that is why they replaced the whole door. The back door was reskinned. The "B" pillar had to be pulled back in place. I never saw that damage - body shop saw it. So, that is why I recommend the experts. The hit was too high to affect the unibody frame rails, but everything was checked while it was on the frame machine. The only thing out of place was the "B" pillar.
