Kinda hurt the the XK :(

I had left my work yesterday and a guy cut me off trying to get onto the freeway and I slammed on the brakes and hit a ditch and went up this hill on the side of the freeway. I hit pretty hard, I get out and notice that my driver side fender broke off and the plastic wheel well piece with it. After I had backed it down the whole front bumper was unhooked..it was just a bad day yesterday. It's now at Artistic Auto Body and who knows how long it's going to be before I get my Jeep back but luckily the guy that cut me off stopped and help me out of the car and his insurance is paying for all of it since it was his fault, I had the right of way. So now they have to replace my bumper, fog lights, fender, and my exhaust that kinda got damaged. Wish I had taken pictures though, you'd be amazed how far up I got on this steep hill. I was only going 35-40 mph and got up there. So now I have to drive my girlfriends 2007 Mustang and I hate how small it is inside. I miss my Jeep already! Ugh

Sorry to hear about that! At least your rig is getting fixed quick and the guy who caused the accident was decent enough to stop...sound like you got a little lucky!

Thanks! And yeah I used the VHT on those but it turned out all flat colored and was hoping it would look glossy. Someday I'm going to get new tail lights and try a different method to make it a glossy look, I tried using a clear enamol but that made it way worse..so i'm just stuck with these for now hah

Here's a tip, I've done a lot of these on my vehicles and for friends looking for a different inexpensive and cool look...wet sand your VHT covered lens' with 2500 grit really lightly, then spray on a coating of clear (I did 2 coats on my 2000 Cherokee) then run a buffer across it really lightly and voila, mirror like black, nice and glossy!

The roughly hour of work it will take to do really makes a huge difference in the look! Go from flat to mirror black and from the looks of your rig it would definitely be the look your wanting to rock...post up an updated pic if you end up doing it.
