newb here

Hey everyone, just completed the purchase of an 06 Commander 3.7l for the wife. Tried to push her to the 4.7 or the 5.7 to match my 300c but she does not care ehough about all of that. Seems like a great vehicle, i look forward to learning more about them on the forum!

So whats first...what mods should I be looking at first. She is not big on wheels or anything so it will be interior/exterior upgrades and I might try to sneak in a performance mod or two.

Already scheduled for a tint job, drop down DVD and remote start. How about the Jet chip that is available...is it worth it?

Welcome aboard. I have a Hemi Limited. I would not trade it for the world. I would upgrade what makes you feel the best. I love to do it... Make sure the wife loves it more...Not much more to add.

Re: newb here

Welcome to the forum. Seems like your ready to get some mods done. If you don't plan on water fording the cold air intake (CAI) is likely to give you the most bang for the buck. I think they make them for the 3.7 now. You can search the forum. I have the Hemi and put that and a Jet 1 chip. Not sure the chip was really worth it. The CAI was definitely

Welcome to the forum. I added the chrome tubular sidesteps and they look great on my XK. Enjoy the new toy.

Re: newb here

For interior, I suggest a set of Canvasback from Idaho cargo covers. I have them on mine, they cover the back of the second row seat and the floor beyond that. (with the 3rd row folded down). Attached via velcro and never need to be removed (ie you can fold the 2nd & 3rd row seats up and down without removing the cover. If you have dogs or sometimes carry dirty stuff its a godsend, plus you can just wipe it off with a damp cloth if it gets dirty.
If you want to dress up the outside, I installed the chrome (with the Jeep name) bug guard and chrome gas cap cover. This looks really nice on a dark colored jeep. john

Re: newb here

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new ride. I added the tint and the cargo liner plus the slush mats to start. The second project would be a 2'' lift by RevTek and the roof basket carrier from mopar.

Re: newb here

Hey, don't I know you from somewhere?

Welcome to this forum!

I contacted Lori at 402 Motoring about tinting my tails. That is going to have to wait as my wife accidentally made two mortgage payments this month!

Re: newb here

thanks for the welcome everyone!

I like that Canvasback idea.

On my 300c instead of adding a CAI, i removed the air silencer and added a K&N drop-in, might do the same on this, no problems with water on the 3C. I have used Jet chips in the past on a few trucks and have always been 50/50 on results. I have not seen if there is a programmer (i.e. Superchips, Hypertech) for these.

I am looking for some tubebars, but maybe black. I always like black and white combos on trucks/suvs for some reason. Black tube bars, bull bar, roof rack and rims...I hope I can keep my mod budget in check for 2 cars now.

Hey Fohn - i guess we will be seeing more of each other. I did not realize you are in Bella Vista, i am in Tulsa, we make it through Bella Vista sometimes.

Re: newb here

K&N intake charger is a must for the 3.7L, it makes a big difference in performance. Search the forum and you'll find the details, or to to knfilters.com

Re: newb here

I agree with Dabitz, if the wife will let you. I am still trying to figure out how as since the K&N FIPK for the 3.7 is still awaiting CARB approval and my state is addicted to emission tests.
