First Dent in the Commander...I'm depressed

So...I had a chrome air deflector on my 2006 Commander 65th Anniversary Edition..and the air deflector broke...so I was forced to take it off. Well, much to my surprise, I found a nice, dime sized dent in the hood...now, honestly, no one else notices this, but I do...here's my dilemma, and I need some guidance.

Do I, A.) Get a new air deflector, to cover the dent? or B.) Leave it off (I actually like the way it looks) and I really don't want to risk more damage either thru denting or paint fading.

Thoughts are appreciated.

Bill

hard to say without a pic, but I suggest paintless dent removal.

Re: First Dent in the Commander...I'm depressed

Let me clarify..there is no real damage to the car...it's a small dent, that is almost not even there...the only time you can see it is if the light hits it just right and you're at the correct angle...I know, I'm a bit crazy about this stuff...if I lined up a million people and asked them to find the dent, the only one who would is me!

I guess my question to the forum is what are your opinions on the chrome air deflector? I liked it when I originally put it on, but now that it's off, I'm intrigued by the natural front of my Commander...I was just looking for general opinions...and complaining about my first dent.

Re: First Dent in the Commander...I'm depressed

gotcha.

The only reason I would consider putting the air deflector on mine is for bugs. The front slope of the hood isn't so big that mine picks up many bugs on it. Mine are all over the windshield. Does the deflector seem to help with that? If so, I'd put a smoked on on (mine is inferno red). Not much of a fan of the chrome ones except maybe on Silver.

Re: First Dent in the Commander...I'm depressed

I have the silver 2006 that I put a chrome grille in, so it did look ok, but as far as functionality, I didn't do a damn thing. In fact, driving back from NH last night, I thought that less bugs hit my windshiled without it. I know that sounds crazy, but I still think that every bug hit my windshield with it on. I think I'm going to leave it off going forward. I like seeing the nice chrome jeep logo on the front, as opposed to the raised logo on the deflector.
