Re: 0% For 72 Months

I was going to buy one using the 0% for 72 months, but found leasing one to be a cheaper option. I am paying $230.00/month for 27 months on a $33000 Commander. The residual is $16,800. If I lease it then buy it ( assuming 6.2%) I will end up paying a total of about $25,000.

If that is the case, it sounds like they can not move their product!

My dealer has lots of new 2007 Commanders & Grand Cherokees on the lot to sell, which is hard to do since they have a lot used rental turn-ins for sale as well.

This is what happens when you (read: Chrysler/Ford/GM) rely too heavily on rental fleet sales and don't manufacture more fuel efficient (read: diesel) vehicles with power and size which customers are now demanding, and price the ones you do make out of reach of most buyers (diesel only available in GC Limited, ~$40k MSRP). And Detroit wonders why the public still sees them as out of touch and not responsive to market demands.

Is 0% really worth it now? When I bought my Commander, they had a 0% for 60 months but the interest rates were so low that I was better off taking the rebate.

I think my dealer liked me, I bought two on the last day of the month and they made the DC quota. Meant lots of money for them, so in turn, good deals for me.
