Question Soft rattle from left front end, felt in the pedals - Not sway bar bushings

Hi all new member.

Just bought myself a 2007 Commander Limited with around 40 miles on it.

I recognize a soft rattling sensation in the pedals and soft rattling noise from the front left when I drive on coarse tarmac or hit minor bumps. I removed sway bar to see if the sway bar bushings was the problem but the rattle just got a little worse.

I have checked top nut on shock absorber where I can see 9 threads so it should be ok.

One suspicious thing is that I can see a slight amount of oil coming from the shock, so shock is probably broken. I will replace the front shocks but I do not believe that will take away the rattle.

Any other things I should check?
