This stuff always pulls at my patriotic strings. I'll remember the hand signal. Thanks!

I'll remember that next time I travel.

I did buy a soldier a cup of coffee at DFW about two years ago. I haven't done much traveling since then though.

I have seen that and it is an awesome thing. My Brother in Law recently returned from Iraq and I now know how much these guys appreciate a Thank You. I always make it a point to shake hands and say Thanks, whether it is a single soldier or a group of 50! They deserve it!

I've never saw that hand signal before, but I do get a verbal thank you every now and then. I always tell them that it's a pleasure to serve my country.

Being 24 I have a good deal of friends and acquaintances that are in or have been in Iraq and Afghanistan. You may think its a little corny but those guys really do appreciate your thanks. Something like buying a soldier a cup of coffee is a really subtle but nice gesture. The bravery they have is sometimes unbelievable when I hear their stories. One of my buddies is on his second tour of Iraq and is a patrol gunner on top of a humvee.

Yes, we do appreciate it. =) Its nice to be appreciated. I've never seen the hand-sign, but I'll keep a look out for it.

When I came back for R&R, the turn out at DFW was crazy - people everywhere shaking hands and giving hugs and all that. It was nice. Better still is the police escort home from the airport, the fire trucks spraying across the bus, and the rush to see the family after coming home. Still brings a tear to my eye.
