I replaced my rear wiper today. This was a lengthy 2 week process!!

I first bought a replacement at Auto Zone, which they had to order. Next day I come back to get the wiper and ask them to come out to swap it for me. They can't get it to fit. We go back in the store and look up the part #. Apparently they don't sell rear wipers for Commanders?? They refund my money and tell me to go to the dealership. I order one on Amazon. Even though it's Prime it gives a 4 day delivery time. No big deal. That wiper shows up and is broken in 3 pieces. So ... I do a return and order another one, again wait 4 days. Got that one today and swapped it out myself.

Shoulda just ordered it myself from the beginning!!!

I finally replaced my Vapor Canister Purge Valve today. I've had the check engine light on for a while now with the "P0456 - Evap System Small Leak" code. My brother has one of the computers you can plug in to read the codes and reset the light. We've done that a few times, but it always comes back on. I have already replaced the gas cap (and made sure it's on tight). The next step was this Vapor Canister Purge Valve. I read thru this link https://www.700r4transmissionhq.com/p0456-jeep-commander/ and the gas cap and the purge valve seemed like the easiest to swap out.

The check engine light is still on, but I'll give it a few days of driving. And if it stays on, then I'll look thru the other 3 components to see if any of them need replacing.

I was back at it again today!!

Worked with my brother to replace my brake pads (I have the lifetime warranty pads from Auto Zone) and also swap out the lower side pieces on both front seats. Those side pieces have both been broken for a while now. In the process we found both the front and the rear drivers side calipers needed to be replaced. The rubber seal around the piston on the front was bad and starting to leak and on the rear there was some breaking on the piece that holds the inside pad in place. Figured it's the best time to take care of all of it!! We also picked up a new hardware kit for the front and rear. So the passenger side calipers did get some work done to them. We got everything done and even rotated the tires.

Also, the check engine light was still on after replacing my Vapor Canister Purge Valve. So we rest the light. I'll drive it again for a while and see if it comes back on.

Feel good about getting some more work done on the Commander!!

Seen these 3D MAXpider floor mats on Amazon for 44.00. I had to buy them for that price. The color is off a tad from my Khacki carpet but I can live with it

Found the source of the antifreeze leak,
Minute leak at 3 year old water pump at gasket seal...the actual shaft seal is tight. Found the receipt, It's a TFW 4326, NAPA with a lifetime warranty. This Saturdays project I guess. The gaskets on these are recessed and pressed into a shallow groove...I should' ve used a gasket sealer...
