Extreme dashboard heat

Anyone else notice how flipping hot the dash/control panel from radio all the was to shifter gets insanely hot? I had driven out to go fishing for few hours then drove home its hour drive either way and I had heat on low and noticed that the chrome type trim and nobs and the black trim around shifter were extremely hot to the touch lol I worried this is gonna burn up my wiring or controls inside the dash.

Can you define hot? Because hot is relative to the person describing it. Can you hold your hand on it? If so for how long?

Hot enough that its like when you pass a dish of hot food at the table and you kinda pass it quickly lol. Maybe like 15 seconds or less.

That is weird I can't say I noticed that before. Does this go away while the heat is off?

I have never had that area get that hot. That would concern me. Is it something that happens often?
