Re: Miles of Freedom

Did you get the V8 or V6? Happy with the engine so far?

How much below MSRP did you get yours for? Just curious as to how much dealers are discounting these. Anyone get theirs for invoice?

Re: Miles of Freedom

I just traded my 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport for $1000 bucks over Kelly Bluebook. I was not expecting the dealer to give me any money off the MSRP since the Jeep Commander is so new. Walked away with my semi loaded 4x4 V8 Commander for $26,500.

However, with the Miles of Freedom Program you get a $2300 debit card that can be used for anything, 2 years scheduled maintenance, and a extended warranty. No brainer that this is a great deal.

I would do your homework if you are planning to finance. I did save some money on finanacing though www.wellsfargo.com instead of going thru the dealer. I got a 6 year loan at 5.8% by applying online. Took me about 5 minutes to enter the application and get approved. Took a couple days to get my paper work.

Re: Miles of Freedom

That sounds like a deal, I traded a 2004 rubicon that I had 40 K$ in 30K for the jeep and I had 10K worth of accessories, rack, lift tires etc..etc which aint worth nothing on trade.. they gave me 19 K on the jeep, the pay off was 22K but I was having so many problems with this jeep and DC had canceled my warranty (long story dealer screwed me over) so I just bit the bullet and traded anyway.. At least now I have a dependable vehicle. The payments are the same as the rubie and I never pay for one anyway, this will be my 6th jeep in the last 5 years.. As many problems as I have had with DC products in the last two years I should of learned my lesson and bought another ford.. but I have jeep fever I guess.. Now I am looking for another wrangler for trail riding..

That sucks that you had troubles gblue. I would love to have a loaded Jeep Wrangler again. I am hoping to re-live my 20's again someday after my kids get older. Gotta love the Jeep Brand!!! I am going to miss my Jeep Cherokee

Re: Miles of Freedom

Yep, that was my 5th wrangler (rubicon) but the day I got it the front axle seal was leaking, they worked on it ever since I had it, finally replacing the whole front axle assembly, the folks at the dealer was just throwing parts at it, I guess DC got tired of it and I suffered their screw ups.. I am going to pick up a used one to play with.. check out my jeep site, at http://itsajeep.org Its mainly a TJ Site lots of neat pics of jeeps

Re: Miles of Freedom

Uh... $26,500...

We went over to the dealership to kill 20 minutes waiting for our vet appt (next door)... 3 days later I've got a fully loaded (w/ every available Commander option) 5.7L Hemi V8 Commander LTD sitting in my garage.

Just over $40K "out the door"... the way i see it is that it'll make a decent family car and should be paid off by the time we have little ones. Got about 5K off the sticker, but at the same time for that money we did get a LOT of car...

Re: Miles of Freedom

On the MoF program, it's in lieu of their "special financing" I was told. But then again their "special" 4.9% isn't special down here... If you have time to get your own financing, go for it. The only benefit of financing thru Chrysler is an extra $1000 towards the purchase price. DEFINITELY more beneficial to claim the MoF program (save that tidbit for the end of the negotiations...), especially considering that the "2 yrs of free gas" debit card MIGHT get you a year of gas in a commander - regardless what engine you've got.

I drove both the 3.7 and 4.7 before I bought mine. The V6 is way under powered if you op for the 4x4 trail rated model. The 4.7 V8 provides enough power to do the job and has good passing ability. I would have liked a HEMI option, but you are forced to buy the Limited ($6-8k more) to get it.

I was able to get mine for $100 above invoice. With a trade and $500 military discount, my Commander 4x4 cost $27,400, including quite a few options. I also got the Miles of Freedom Plan which is a great deal! This plan works out to be worth more than all the possible rebates, past and present. As was also stated in another post, it pays to shop and negotiate interest rates too. I found 4.75% at a credit union.
