2006 Jeep Commander 3.7 Radiator fan not working

The title says it all. Got stuck in traffic yesterday and noticed my temp gauge increasing only while it's at a idle. Once underway it goes to back to normal temp. I swapped out the thermostat and had the same issue. I then changed the relays and still the fan doesn't kick on at high temp. I'm guessing the actual fan is shot at this point but wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions before I buy one.

See if you have power @ the fan before you replace it.

I have replaced fan motors before, much less expensive than the entire assembly.
