Jeep - Electrostatic Discharge from cloth seats?

OK, I'm thinking about trading in my Grand Cherokee on the new Commander.

Do I need the leather seats on the Commander to avoid getting shocked when I get out of the vehicle?

My 2003 Grand Cherokee's cloth seats afford zero conductivity, giving me a massive "ZAP!" every time I exit the vehicle.

Does the 2006 Commander's new cloth seats rectify the conductivity issue the older Jeep seats had, or does one have to purchase leather to eliminate this annoying problem?

I have the same electrocution issue on my 2001 Cherokee. It varies, today I did not get shocked but yesterday it felt like I was strapped to the chair. Not sure if it was the weather?

Do you have cloth seats? I've heard leather corrects this. Wondering if the new Jeep 2006 Cloth seats have included metallic fibers woven in the cloth to dissapte the charge buildup.

A common cause of gas station fires is from people inserting their nozzle, getting back in the vehicle with cloth seats, exiting and reaching to pull out the nozzle and ZAP!! A spark ingnites a fuel fire...

oh, and yes, weather does affect this. if it's a dry arrid day, expect a zap. when you exit the vehicle and move across the cloth seat you build up static energy. when you exit the vehicle and touch the door, you release the charge, causing the zap.

My 98 XJ with cloth does this also. Usually on cold dry days. I just touch the metal on the door before I step on the ground and usually avoid the shock.

Yes, I have cloth seats.

In regards to the weather, I live in Arizona so it is usually dry. I have noticed that I have been getting shocked more as the days get cooler. Back when I lived in Virginia, my friend who has a 2000 Grand Cherokee always got zapped and I use to laugh at him because my Cherokee would never do it to me. I guess it's finally paying me back for all those mean things I do while driving it.
