Rocky Road Upper Controls Arms

I'm debating on buying the RRO UCA's or the JBA UCA's. Anyone have trouble with either? Looks like the only difference is one is red, other is black. I don't mind paying the additional $100 if they are better. Been seeing too many pics of factory ball joints breaking when lifted.

JBA are better. RRO was using smaller (KJ IIRC) ball joints that some guys have broken. Not sure if their production has changed or not, but that was the case in the past.

The JBA's definitely look like a better suit for a lifted XK or WK, although for the price the RRO's they might make a better fit for a rig that's closer to stock height. Either way, I'd imagine that both are an immense upgrade over the OEM arms, in March of next year I will be purchasing the uppers from CB Engineering. They won't work with the factory strut design or I would recommend purchasing them since they are a more uniball-esque design and typically allow more usable travel.

I'm eye-balling these JBA UCA's right now.

Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Commander Upper A-arms

Definitely on my to-do list.

RRO also had trouble with the bushings as well IIRC. I'm sure that there are plenty of people out there that are happy with their RRO UCA's, but as far as I have read (feel free to take it with a grain of salt of course) the JBA's are regarded as a better product and generally worth the extra $.

I am running MOOG greasable "Problem Solver" ball joints in stock arms with my lift. So far so good on those. Kind of wishing that I had purchased the adjustable ones though, or JBA arms, as I am not 100% happy with my alignment (factory adjustments maxed out)

I have also checked out the MOOG Problem solvers. I'm going too install them and keep an eye on them. I will check them monthly. The ball joint is metal instead of nylon and greaseable. If unhappy, I can change later. My next mod is a big one. I am removing the front RC spacers, adding Bilstein 5100 struts, replacing spring and UCA's. Replacing differential mount bushings and a left cv joint that is leaking grease. I will update when completed.
