question about 2006 commander warrenty

I am looking into buying a 2006 Jeep Commander and I am wondering about the warrenty. I had a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and that came with a 7/70,000 miles powertrain. I then had a dealer tell me that the 2006 Grand Cherokee's only had 3/36,000 miles powertrain warrenty. Is this the same for the commander?

The 2006 Commander has the 3yr/36,000mi bumper to bumper warranty. It does not have the 7yr/70,000mi powertrain. You can buy an extended warranty.

I got the Lifetime Max Care from my Lithia Dodge dealership for $5k. Yeah, its a lot, but it covers everything mechanical until ... forever ... I suppose. So, initially its a bundle, but the peace of mind when I hear strange noises is priceless.

RIP - Silver '06 Limited; 5.7 Hemi; 2" TerraFlex Lift; 255/70R17 Bridgestone Dueler REVOS, Horizontal Inclinometer, Signal Frog Antenna Ball, Surco Safari 50"x50" Roof Rack, GetLost4x4 bumper, Bulldog 9k Winch, GetLost4x4 Rock Rails - (should have added a snorkel)

Is there a good 'reputable' source for an extended warranty on the Commander?

Thank you very much for the quick reply, I appreciate it. Going to look at an 06 with 18k miles on it tomorrow... I assume it still has 18k miles/1.5 years left on the factory warranty (in service date was 02/07). However, having read about several issues regarding the 06 model year... sounds like an extended warranty would be the way to go...
