Deleting Third Row HVAC

I'm looking into deleting my third row HVAC so that I'll have some more room in the passenger wheel well to clear a bigger tire. In the near future I want to move to 34s or 35s, and I'll need the extra room.

I've heard of people deleting the HVAC and removing the lines, but I haven't seen any documentation or materials lists to accomplish it.

I assume I'll need plugs for the heater and AC lines, but I'm not sure where to cut them off and plug them. I'm also not sure if I'll need anything else. Has anyone else done this? Any input would be appreciated.

Why wouldn't you just run a wheel spacer? My wheels are kicked out about an inch further than stock.

I'm running a spacer, but that isn't enough to avoid rubbing. I've decided to go for 33s instead for now, but I'm getting some pretty serious rubbing after a single turn of the wheel. I've noticed that my wheel well liners aren't holding shape, so I'll be using self tapping screws to get them properly out of the way and see how much rubbing I'll still have to deal with.

IMHO get a proper lift and don't mess with the rear HVAC. I mean, you spent the money for a ported/polished TB and a programmer. Put down the money for a proper lift instead of trying to cram the biggest tire you can in the wheel well. It looks dumb. Personally done enough of this to know better.

I'm moving to OME springs soon, and I'm not looking to cram a massive tire in the wheel well. I just have serious rubbing issues on the right side when my wheel is fully cranked, and I'm looking to eliminate it. The issue could be sagging springs, seeing as I get rubbing even with the 245s I'm currently running, so I'll see where I'm at with the OME springs before making more modifications. I'm mainly looking for people with experience to give input before attempting the project myself.

I'm also trying to avoid too much lift to keep my center of gravity down. I saw no reason to move to 6" or 8" of lift to clear 35s when there's only a single contact point to eliminate, and similarly don't want to jump to 4" of lift for 33s. This thing is top heavy enough as it is,and I don't want a rollover in the sort of trails I run.

Mine had 245/70's on it when I bought it and was badly sagging. The tires were literaly a little above the front flares but it did not rub. I bought the 2991/2993 OME's and gained about 3 inches over that. I am running a 1.5 " spacer and 2011 Grand Cherokee rims with 245/70 10 ply wranglers with the kevlar belts.

Yep, I did the throttle body myself. Took a lot of time with a dremel, but ultimately wasn't difficult to do. I have a writeup posted on this site.
