My Jeep Gave Up on Me Today!!!!

Hi folks,

Went out this morning to drive to work and she did'nt open, the alarm sounded and the chaos continued!!!

Got into the car via the key, alarm still sounding, started her up no problem, alarm continued, no wipers, no aircon, no heating, no radio, no nothing except for flashing blinkers and a running engine.

I drove her the 1mile to the dealer, lights flashing and alarm sounding....the dealer tried to hook her up to their computer with no results!....their computer cant talk to the car's computer system!!!

Its a year to the day my CRD Commander gearbox broke!!!

Jeeps and Christmas.....there's a pattern forming here!

I should have a rental car later though through the dearler!

Anyone else had this problem!

well what is the temp? I had an alarm fail one day because it got too cold and went off.

The alarm would not shut off until i disconnected the battery. it was below 0. wouldnt expect to have that problem now.

Its well above 0 today, very mild and dry!

I think one of the Commanders ECU's has packed-up as the dealer cant communicate with anything on the vehicle!!!

I'm starting to lose my faith in the Jeep product now

I just dont need this two days before Christmas and four kids and a wife to transport around during the holiday period!!!....Again!!!!

I feel your pain. We will say a little prayer over your jeep and hope you can have it for the Holidays (and beyond)

It sucks when you have this much trouble from something you enjoy so much.....kinda like kids.....

Hope this gets better.....

Man, that's crappy, sorry to hear you are having problems, again, with your Jeep. I have a HEMI too, and have had problems over the last 2 weeks.

I ended up with a new battery and a software reflash this past weekend. So far so good.

Hi, I dont think its the battery as she fired up on first crank this morning, and they cant flash her as the dealer's computer's cant even talk to the car...It's like she's alseep, but sleep-walking...strange!

As for the dealer....they're stuffed as the tech's can only fix a car when they have something plugged into it!!!! Where have the good old days gone of fixing a truck with a hammer??!!

I wonder if the connectors for the ECU have come loose, so that's why the signal isn't getting through?

Although it's uncommon, I've heard of the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) failing completely. If the dealership techs can't get any communication at all, didn't they wonder if the PCM is faulty?
